The first International Workshop on Public-Private Dialogue

The first International Workshop on Public-Private Dialogue was held on the 1st and 2nd of February 2006, at the World Bank Paris Conference Centre. Download the Proceedings (pdf, 1.8mb) which include summaries of plenary sessions, breakout groups, the drawing up of the PPD Charter and selected case studies.

You can download all the available papers, case studies and powerpoints that served as the basis for the presentations and working groups. Building the Capacity of BMOs: Guiding Principles for Project Managers

Business membership organizations (BMOs) can be a platform for promoting a better investment climate in developing countries – but they often need assistance to fulfil their role as private sector representatives effectively.

This World Bank publication analyses the problems typically faced by BMOs and gives guiding principles on how to design, implement and evaluate a project aimed at building their capacity to become a strong and reputable representative of the private sector.
